ABOUT NIMOMASHTIC
A melting pot of colour, character and melody, Nimomashtic are a vibrant and uplifting live act.Recently featured on BBC national radio and TV, their music draws from many different sources creating a spell-binding blend of folk 'n' roll, percussive grooves, swing & a'cappella.
A truly interactive band, their live performance is always full of surprises never failing to get an audience singing along.
Born in the spring of 2004 out of a desire to make passionate and conscious music. Nimomashtic are a musical collective based around the songs of Matt Kemp and are propelled forwards by the talents of Oliver Ridgewell, Laura Castiel, Emlyn Roberts, Phil Saatchi and Al Wingham. The band seeks to use their music for creative community purpose by engaging in unusual and inspiring projects.
In 2006 Nimomashtic took to the the road, but this was no ordinary tour as they walked 900 miles from gig to gig, and continuing the legacy of old American folk hero 'Johnny Appleseed' the band planted their own apple and wildflower seeds on the path they walked.
In 2007 the band walked from Brighton to the Eden project, playing 15 gigs and planting more apple trees and wildflowers along the way as a symbol that only with mans helping hand can an overwhelming environmental crisis be avoided.
In the summer of 2007 the band finished recording a new double album 'Adventures in the art of song'. This third studio album see's them doing exactly what it says on the tin whilst remaining quintessentially Nimomashtic!
