WALK YOUR TALK
A postcard from still waters

MY MUSIC

I write songs and have done for around 17 years, I like to sing as much as possible because it empowers me, I find writing lyrics infinitely interesting and mysterious.
I love to play concerts as its a great way to connect with people.
My first musical loves were Kurt Cobain, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix ,Nick Drake and I have had various affairs with Swing,African folk, soul and bluegrass.
You can find this and more in my music.
We are what we are not. Here I am.

Currently I am waiting for the right time to record a new solo album, I have been writing it over the past six years. As yet I have not decided if it will be recorded with others or alone, but one things for sure it will be similiar in style to earlier releases Blue Lantern and The Riddle.
Watch this space for further updates.

POEMS AND LYRICS

He Danced.

He stands gigantic in receipt of the crowds thrall, humbly he bows under the concentric arches.
People turn silent with pulsing hearts, ´awesome´... begin the whispers,
Elegance drips from his body, his art delivered in a string of blooded moments sucking life dry with footsteps quaint and certain,
With dark eyes alive and fiery empowered with the suns of his forefathers dreams, he rose like a courting swan on the dead end streets - and danced and something else it seems...

The Moment dry.

Under the twilight in a restless sea
blowing in the dunes of forgotten dreams,
I swim amongst memories of all that has passed
With a burning voice I sing unable to touch - clawing at the seams,
Time breaks and forms concentric patterns of insatiable passion
& in magnetic movement with my lover entwined, I soar in the endless , nameless.
In her eyes I see little pools of miracles -
Everything that has been,
Everything that is,
Everything that will be
For we have lived and shall live again and for this moment there is nothing more.

This Land could never tame me (song)

Late December, Pure morning
Cobwebs and dew on the ground
Fake plastic trees, the pull of the breeze
roots uncovered the nations sound
the voice of hunger , no face of trust
a curious traveller out on the cusp
fools gold, the withering
as the flag burns here me sing

Call me by my name, as I am nothing more
I´m leaving tonight, to ride the north east wind

Hounds chase hares, museums of plunder
lost in the woods now , I hear thunder
a poison arrow of conservative might
unions have passed, now just a poor mans fight!
The streets have eyes, stale bread
How they lied, how they lied
the hum of traffic, the church bells chime
a click click world, no badge of pride

This land could never tame, never , never tame
I´m leaving tonight to ride the north east wind

Oh England what have you done, these urban dreams bring the tears of suns, Nothing changes except the veil of your wars
the nation weeps and I am torn.

Call me by my name, as I am nothing more
I´m leaving tonight, to ride the north east wind

The Midnight Robber (song/fable)

Lucy found a pearl underneath the bridge
Amongst the blossom of springs mantelpiece
She hauled it up from the shadows of sun
and brought it home, for the eyes of everyone,
She sang.....

Shooting stars, whirling suns to the gateway and beyond
through the looking glass the pearl was full of love
From an island of secrets of time gone by, the winged moments of 1000 lives,
Lucy sang onwards as out from the dust rose a hand that stalks the night

Through the flame of the morning Lucy flew into the days
like the coming of the butterfly across the chasm of an age
with the pearl in hand she journeyed the mountains high,
Fearless without ghosts never asking why!
she sang hey.......

Only the eagle that flew, saw the thieves hand, he who stole the pearl and vanished across the land,
Lucy´s tears they fell like winter rain,
And the midnight robbers laughter can be heard to this day
