WALK YOUR TALK
´Interwoven ,Intertwined are all things under the sky so with footsteps light be sure to tread put something back and nurture the web´Walk your talk was set up as a reaction to a week full of bad news about the state of the planet.
The aims are :
1) To promote independent thought and self expression
2) Raise awareness about the environment and other related issues
3) To use musical and artistic talents to be of benefit to the world.
At the projects creation the focus was primarily on the band Nimomashtic.
Nimomashtic were a band with a difference, across the summers of 2006 and 2007, these intrepid musicians walked 1200 miles playing over 55 concerts.
The 'Walk your talk' tours saw the band quite literally walking from gig to gig, carrying all their equipment and sleeping under the stars each night.
Taking their lead from the old American folk hero 'Johnny Appleseed' who as a service to humanity planted many thousands of tree's in his lifetime, the Eco band also planted their own apple and wildflower seeds alongside the paths they walked.
Their footsteps and planting were intended as a symbol that only with mans helping hand can an environmental crisis be avoided, and to inspire others to think more carefully about how their day to day actions affect the environment on a local and global scale.
Many people the band met on their journey made a pledge to make a change - like using the car less, growing more of their own food and one man even promised to plant an entire orchard on a plot of land he owned.
The project also was taken to schools where environmental workshops were delivered alongside tree planting and the screening of inspirational film 'The man who planted trees'. In 2012 a documentary is set to be released charting the trials and tribulations of the band as they walk 900 miles around the UK. Watch this space for more details.
Walk your talk is a 'not for profit' group, and all monies raised currently go towards the project.
Presently we are working on new interactive environmental campaign called 'Stop! (see Last Tree on Earth Page), a new arts a social development workshop project (based in Barcelona), short films, and 'Positive,Global,Multi-media event' - Carpe Diem 21.

Environmental footnote: The science behind climate change can sometimes confuse the issue, it is ´Walk your Talks´ belief that essentially human activity is bringing about the destruction of many many species on earth and making many areas uninhabitable for life, this has to stop immediately or the consequences could be grave.
´Human activity is having a devastating effect on all forms of life with which they share the planet. A recent study revealed that at the present rate 1 in 4 mammals, 1 in 8 birds, 1 in 3 amphibians and upto 73 percent of flowering plants are faced with extinction.
